Mornings

I've never been a morning person. My family has a video of me when I was 3 years old refusing to get up on Christmas morning because I wanted to sleep more. For some reason, 18 years later, my family still hasn't figured this out. Today I woke up my dad turning the surround sound full blast while playing a movie. Then my little sisters kept running in and out and leaving the door open so that I could hear them all dancing around and singing "Michelle is a poophead." (lyrics that were so eloquently written by my 22 year old sister) In all it wasn't my favorite thing to wake up to. I wake up in the morning when I have a reason to get up but if there's no reason to get up please just let me sleep.

I think I'm going to start locking my door at night.

Sister Time

Hopefully no one is offended by this haha
Julie and I at EPCOT this summer
My big little sister Julie just came over. She was just going to come by to get a sweater I borrowed from her, but she ended up staying for a couple of hours and we just talked. We didn't talk about anything really important, just what's going on in our lives and catching up but it made me so happy! It made me think about how lucky I am having sisters so close in age to me. Erin is 15 months older than me and Julie is 21 months younger. (She my big little sister because she's 2 or 3 inches taller than me.) When we were growing up it wasn't always my favorite thing to have a sister in both the grade above and below me because we had to share the same group of friends and people compared us a lot. But now that we're living on our own, my sisters are some of my favorite people ever. We are so lucky to be going through the same kinds of things that come with being college aged together and we're especially lucky because we all get to be at BYU together. My sisters are the coolest and they're basically supermodels... just thought I'd add that on there. :)
My two amazing big sisters

Decisions

Sometimes... I have to make decisions. and sometimes (aka most of the time) I don't know what to do, or if I even should do something or just let it be.
But I've decided not worry about things, not right now, anyway. My birthday is on Sunday so I don't want to be stressed :)

What I Believe

I just had to read this talk by Elder M. Russell Ballard for one of my classes and it talks about how we can use the internet to let people know what we believe. I realized that I have had this blog for almost two years now and I think I've only mentioned anything really church related once. This is strange because the church is such an important part in my life. So I'm going to just write down a little bit about what I believe.

1st off, I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Members are often called Mormons.

I believe that God lives. I know that He loves me.
I believe that Jesus Christ is God's son and that he was born so that he could die for me so that I can be forgiven of my sins.
I believe that we all lived in Heaven with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ before we were born and that the reason that we are here is to learn and grow to become more like Heavenly Father.
I believe that there is a living Prophet named Thomas S. Monson. I believe that he is led by Jesus Christ so that he can tell us the things that God wants us to do.
I believe that families can be together forever and I am so greatful for that with my family now and the family that I will have one day when I get married.
I believe that The Book of Mormon is a true book and that it was translated by a Prophet, Joseph Smith.
I know that God answers prayers, maybe not right when we want Him to but when we actually need Him to.

I am so thankful that my parents taught me about the things that they know when I was little so that I had the chance to learn them for myself now that I living on my own. I am not perfect, I do not always do the right thing, by a long shot. But I know that's why we have Jesus Christ to help us to improve and progress.

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness... Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then I am strong." -2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Family Pictures by Sheryll Lynne

My family took family pictures a month or so ago and we got them back and they are awesome! We have never, and I mean never enjoyed taking family pictures. But we loved taking pictures with Sheryll Lynne. She is so much fun and takes amazing pictures. She made us look good, and we always struggle with that haha. These are going to be our family's pictures for a long time!

I'm pretty sure this is the best picture of my parents that's ever been taken

Big sisters :)

I love this picture of Erin

cute little sisters

fun with flowers :)

haha gotta love the graffiti
Sorry there's so many, I just liked them all :) I'm not trying to advertise or anything but if you need pictures taken, get Sheryll Lynne because I like almost all of the pictures that she takes. I'm actually ok with having these pictures framed and put on the wall unlike other family pictures we've taken. If anyone knows what picture of me that I'm talking about that hung in our family room for 5 years or so understands how happy I am to finally have a good family picture.

Autumn to Winter in a Day

I love autumn, seriously. It's my favorite season. I love everything from the colorful leaves to the slight chill in the air. I love fall clothes, sweaters, HATS, scarves, and boots. I think people look so much cuter in the fall. I love the excitement of packing up my slightly boring summer clothes and getting out my fall and winter clothes. I love fuzzy socks and footy pajamas... It's just so much fun! I also love pumpkins and corn mazes. A little thing that brings me a lot of happiness in the fall is stepping on crunchy leaves. Just everything adds up to make autumn my favorite season. Then with fall comes the excitement of the possibility of snow.

I love snow! The first snow of the year is simply magical. Even though the first snow happened randomly a few weeks ago, I feel like we're waiting for the first real snow. Which will probably be on thursday... Just like that fall is over and winter is speeding in.

A couple of weeks ago I went on a picnic up the canyon before it started getting cold. It was gorgeous up there! I took so many pictures, but here's a couple of my favorites:

I guess Utah can be kinda pretty some times :)

Changing subject: Halloween was yesterday and so I decided to dress up... Kinda. I'm not a huge fan of costumes and stuff but I thought it would be fun to make this shirt so I wore it all day on Monday. I think R2D2 is one of the coolest characters ever and I wanted to draw on a shirt so the result was this:

I was quite proud of myself :) and some people got excited when they saw me.
Happy November everyone!

Heard it Both Ways

Yesterday, I went with my friends to their ward talent show. The friends I'm talking about are Mitch, Michael, and Nich. They are quite possibly some of the funniest people I know and I love being able to see them perform and watching other people react to them. They love to sing so they created a band of sorts. They call themselves Heard it Both Ways or HB dubs... I've heard it both ways :)They completely stole the show! The people weren't exactly sure what to make of them at first but slowly they started to realize their brilliance. Want to see their performance? I guess it's a good thing I was there to record it!
"We rely more on performance than skill." -Nich
And here is their completely unplanned encore performance haha:
Pretty brilliant, isn't it? I love being with these guys, I laugh so hard every time I am with them.

True Blue 3

This week BYU had its annual True Blue event. This was the third time I have been to True Blue and I still loved it. For people who don't know what it is, basically they have a bunch of blue foam that you get to run around and play in. There's a foam water slide and everything! Then when you're done you are completely dyed blue!! but, thank goodness, it washes off everything really easily. This year it was beautiful weather, which is nice because last year it was FREEZING!

I love BYU :)

My boys :)

They insisted on walking back across campus without their shirts on... slightly embarrassing

Lesson Learned

I learned a ton of lessons this weekend, some are more serious than others but I will share some of the more light hearted ones.
1. Some things are worth the wait.
2. If you're going to General Conference, there's a parking lot west of the conference center that is only $5 for 12 hours, it's worth it so that you can actually get in. If you aren't there early enough, you don't get to go to conference.
3. Getting a gold star from someone is not the best thing that can happen to you.
4. How my little sisters act when I bring friends home is a reflection of what they think of me
5. I still stink at Mario Kart, but I have my moments on battle mode.
6. If you refuse to leave an apartment while an "exclusive" party is happening, they will soon forget that you were an outsider.
and finally...
7. If someone insists on taking a picture, and you know that the set up will be incredibly awkward, don't cooperate. Give a better suggestion or you will end up with a picture of you that looks like this:
of course, this is an absolutely hilarious picture and I laughed for a good 5 minutes when I first saw it. But I can't have too many pictures like this of me in the world.

Erin's Mission Call

My sister Erin got her mission call in the mail yesterday. So as soon as we got out of class we drove up to our parent's house to open it.

The fateful envelope
Watch her open her call :)

She got called to THAILAND BANGKOK!! It's about as far away as you can get! We are so excited for her. In a family of all girls, I never really thought that any of my sisters were going to go on a mission and now Erin's going to Thailand. It's a lot to swallow at once, but we know that is where she is supposed to go and we are proud of her for making the decision to go.

My family :)
Oh my goodness! Thailand!
Do you know what the Thai language looks like?
Yep. Erin's going to be speaking that haha!

Short Hair

On thursday I cut my hair :) I cut off 4 1/2 inches! I've been wanting to cut my hair for a long time but last week I finally snapped and actually did it. It's so drastic that people in my classes that I only see a couple times a week who don't even know my name have noticed it. I have gotten quite a few compliments and I want to share some of them, not because I'm conceited and want to say how much people love my hair, but because the things that my friends said are so funny to me.

"AW!! you look like a little mom!" -Julie
"Your hair is so cute! You look like a cute little bunny!" -Bridget
"I am so glad that you cut your hair, because when your hair was longer you looked just like this girl that I kinda had a thing with and it didn't end so well so I'm glad that you don't look like her anymore." -Eric
.... what?! hahaha seriously?

With the amount of feedback I have been getting I don't know why I didn't cut my hair off years ago. But I like my hair cut, I'm happy that i had the guts to cut it a little shorter than I ever have just to try it.

Cabbage Patch Kids

Yesterday my crazy friends had a crazy idea. We were going to play dodgeball... with cabbage. Cabbage was on sale at the farmer's market, 6 Ibs for $1. So, obviously my friends bought $25 worth. If you do the math that's about 150 Ibs of cabbage! haha and of course it rained yesterday which just added to the excitement!
The Cabbage Patch Kids (it seemed like a fitting name)

On friday night I went to the Rascal Flatts concert! It was amazing. We bought lawn seats but when we got there and were trying to find a place to sit some crew guys came up to us and offered us tickets!! (I think it was because I looked so excited that Sara Evans was on stage and was dancing like a crazy person.) When we got to our seats we could not believe our luck, they were in the 8th row!! It was an incredible concert and Sara Evans only made it better.
RASCAL FLATTS!!

8th row baby!
our group in front of the stage
after we got home we called outr friends and went to Wendy's. haha aren't they cute all piled in the back?

Another Birthday!

This is my sister Erin. She turns 22 today! So here's some pictures of my one and only big sister :)

Don't let this picture fool you, she is actually much taller than me.
I have taken to wearing massive heels to keep up with her.

I think this is one of my favorite pictures ever

there's not really an explanation I can give for this... it was a few years ago

This was us probably about 20 years ago... holy cow, we're old enough to say that now!
HAPPY BIRTHDAY ERIN!!

Missing the South

Today I heard this song on the radio and it made me think of this:

I took these pictures last spring while I was driving around my favorite road back home.
I haven't been back since.
Today, I'm missing Kentucky.

Happy birthday little Sarah

So my little sister turns 12 today... I can't believe that she is that old. She's grown up so much, just this past weekend she got contacts and her ears pierced. I want to show some of my pictures of her... of course, my external drive with all my old pictures on it is in the basement with all of my stuff while I'm at home in between semesters. So I'm limited to the stuff that is on my computer, let's see what I can come up with.
with our little cousin Hayley at our aunt's wedding

she's really good with kids... Krugh just stuffed an entire strawberry in his mouth haha

Sarah is pretty hard core

she loves dancing and wii

last Christmas

she gets really excited about gifts... especially sewing machines

Sarah excited about another gift, I think this was her 10th birthday

I found 1 old picture! Little Miss Toothless
Well, those are the pictures I could find. I have so many better pictures so I'll have to update this later :)
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SARAH-POO!!
