Moonbird

I haven't had time to write blogs recently, my class schedule is crazy. But I thought I would write this short post to show a little bit that I love about what I do as a film student.
Last year in class we watched this video. I fell in love with it. I'm not going to analyze it or anything but just on the surface I love it because it is just so stinkin cute!

Moonbird (1959)

disclaimer: It's 10 minutes long... just so you know. But please don't let that stop you from watching it. I think I'm going to start posting short films and stuff because it's something that I love so much so I want to share it!

"There's no more candy, bird"

Why can't the everything in the world be simple like this?

Mornings

I've never been a morning person. My family has a video of me when I was 3 years old refusing to get up on Christmas morning because I wanted to sleep more. For some reason, 18 years later, my family still hasn't figured this out. Today I woke up my dad turning the surround sound full blast while playing a movie. Then my little sisters kept running in and out and leaving the door open so that I could hear them all dancing around and singing "Michelle is a poophead." (lyrics that were so eloquently written by my 22 year old sister) In all it wasn't my favorite thing to wake up to. I wake up in the morning when I have a reason to get up but if there's no reason to get up please just let me sleep.

I think I'm going to start locking my door at night.

Sister Time

Hopefully no one is offended by this haha
Julie and I at EPCOT this summer
My big little sister Julie just came over. She was just going to come by to get a sweater I borrowed from her, but she ended up staying for a couple of hours and we just talked. We didn't talk about anything really important, just what's going on in our lives and catching up but it made me so happy! It made me think about how lucky I am having sisters so close in age to me. Erin is 15 months older than me and Julie is 21 months younger. (She my big little sister because she's 2 or 3 inches taller than me.) When we were growing up it wasn't always my favorite thing to have a sister in both the grade above and below me because we had to share the same group of friends and people compared us a lot. But now that we're living on our own, my sisters are some of my favorite people ever. We are so lucky to be going through the same kinds of things that come with being college aged together and we're especially lucky because we all get to be at BYU together. My sisters are the coolest and they're basically supermodels... just thought I'd add that on there. :)
My two amazing big sisters

Decisions

Sometimes... I have to make decisions. and sometimes (aka most of the time) I don't know what to do, or if I even should do something or just let it be.
But I've decided not worry about things, not right now, anyway. My birthday is on Sunday so I don't want to be stressed :)

What I Believe

I just had to read this talk by Elder M. Russell Ballard for one of my classes and it talks about how we can use the internet to let people know what we believe. I realized that I have had this blog for almost two years now and I think I've only mentioned anything really church related once. This is strange because the church is such an important part in my life. So I'm going to just write down a little bit about what I believe.

1st off, I am a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Members are often called Mormons.

I believe that God lives. I know that He loves me.
I believe that Jesus Christ is God's son and that he was born so that he could die for me so that I can be forgiven of my sins.
I believe that we all lived in Heaven with Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ before we were born and that the reason that we are here is to learn and grow to become more like Heavenly Father.
I believe that there is a living Prophet named Thomas S. Monson. I believe that he is led by Jesus Christ so that he can tell us the things that God wants us to do.
I believe that families can be together forever and I am so greatful for that with my family now and the family that I will have one day when I get married.
I believe that The Book of Mormon is a true book and that it was translated by a Prophet, Joseph Smith.
I know that God answers prayers, maybe not right when we want Him to but when we actually need Him to.

I am so thankful that my parents taught me about the things that they know when I was little so that I had the chance to learn them for myself now that I living on my own. I am not perfect, I do not always do the right thing, by a long shot. But I know that's why we have Jesus Christ to help us to improve and progress.

"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness... Therefore, I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ's sake: for when I am weak, then I am strong." -2 Corinthians 12:9-10

Family Pictures by Sheryll Lynne

My family took family pictures a month or so ago and we got them back and they are awesome! We have never, and I mean never enjoyed taking family pictures. But we loved taking pictures with Sheryll Lynne. She is so much fun and takes amazing pictures. She made us look good, and we always struggle with that haha. These are going to be our family's pictures for a long time!

I'm pretty sure this is the best picture of my parents that's ever been taken

Big sisters :)

I love this picture of Erin

cute little sisters

fun with flowers :)

haha gotta love the graffiti
Sorry there's so many, I just liked them all :) I'm not trying to advertise or anything but if you need pictures taken, get Sheryll Lynne because I like almost all of the pictures that she takes. I'm actually ok with having these pictures framed and put on the wall unlike other family pictures we've taken. If anyone knows what picture of me that I'm talking about that hung in our family room for 5 years or so understands how happy I am to finally have a good family picture.

Autumn to Winter in a Day

I love autumn, seriously. It's my favorite season. I love everything from the colorful leaves to the slight chill in the air. I love fall clothes, sweaters, HATS, scarves, and boots. I think people look so much cuter in the fall. I love the excitement of packing up my slightly boring summer clothes and getting out my fall and winter clothes. I love fuzzy socks and footy pajamas... It's just so much fun! I also love pumpkins and corn mazes. A little thing that brings me a lot of happiness in the fall is stepping on crunchy leaves. Just everything adds up to make autumn my favorite season. Then with fall comes the excitement of the possibility of snow.

I love snow! The first snow of the year is simply magical. Even though the first snow happened randomly a few weeks ago, I feel like we're waiting for the first real snow. Which will probably be on thursday... Just like that fall is over and winter is speeding in.

A couple of weeks ago I went on a picnic up the canyon before it started getting cold. It was gorgeous up there! I took so many pictures, but here's a couple of my favorites:

I guess Utah can be kinda pretty some times :)

Changing subject: Halloween was yesterday and so I decided to dress up... Kinda. I'm not a huge fan of costumes and stuff but I thought it would be fun to make this shirt so I wore it all day on Monday. I think R2D2 is one of the coolest characters ever and I wanted to draw on a shirt so the result was this:

I was quite proud of myself :) and some people got excited when they saw me.
Happy November everyone!
